Overview

At ARABICKHAT, we value both artistic integrity and customer freedom to use Arabic calligraphy art meaningfully and responsibly.
This page explains the different license types we provide, what you are allowed to do, and what you must avoid when using our artworks.

1. License Categories

We offer three main types of licenses depending on your purchase or project:

A. Standard License (for Ready-Made Calligraphy Artworks)

This license covers all pre-designed digital artworks available for direct download — for example: “Bismillah”, “Eid Mubarak”, “Alhamdulillah”, “Ramadan Kareem”, and other generic calligraphy pieces.

You ARE allowed to:

  • Use the artwork for personal and limited commercial purposes.
  • Modify, recolor, or resize the artwork for your own projects.
  • Print or apply the design on physical products such as:
    • Posters, books, and packaging
    • Apparel, merchandise, and stationery
    • Marketing materials or digital graphics
  • Use the artwork in websites, social media, and client projects.
  • Produce up to 1,000 units under this standard license. For larger scale projects, you can request an Extended Commercial License (up to 10,000 copies or more).

You are NOT allowed to:

  • Resell, share, or redistribute the original source files in any form.
  • Claim this artwork as your own creation.
  • Include the files in any digital product, template, or design bundle for resale.
  • Use ready-made artworks as part of a registered logo or trademark.
  • Use the artwork for AI training, NFT generation, or automated design systems.
  • Use the artwork for illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes.

Note: The Standard License is non-exclusive, meaning the same design may also be purchased and used by others.

B. Exclusive Custom License (for Personalized / Commissioned Works)

This license applies to custom calligraphy artworks designed specifically for you — such as your personal name, brand name, or business identity.

You ARE allowed to:

  • Use the artwork exclusively for your personal or commercial identity.
  • Apply it freely to any medium — digital, print, signage, or packaging.
  • Register the artwork as part of your brand identity or logo (with attribution to ARABICKHAT as designer, not as copyright owner).
  • Modify colors or layout for branding purposes.
  • Print without limitation on quantity — no copy cap.

You are NOT allowed to:

  • Resell or redistribute the editable source files.
  • Claim copyright authorship of the artwork.
  • Allow third parties to reuse or resell the artwork.

Note: Exclusive custom artworks are never resold by ARABICKHAT. You are the only license holder of that piece.

C. Custom Public Phrase License (for Common Texts like “Ahlan wa Sahlan”, “Bismillah”, or Sholawat)

Some custom requests involve common or religious phrases that are not exclusive by nature — for example,
“Ahlan wa Sahlan”, “Bismillah”, or “Sholawat upon the Prophet ﷺ”.
These are categorized as Custom Public Phrase Designs.

Usage Rules:

  • The buyer may use the design personally or commercially.
  • However, ARABICKHAT retains the right to reproduce, modify, or resell similar designs of the same phrase.
  • The buyer does not hold exclusive ownership over the phrase or its design concept.

This ensures fairness for all customers, as public and religious phrases cannot be owned exclusively.

2. Extended Commercial License (Optional Upgrade)

For creators, publishers, or brands producing over 1,000 copies or large-scale distributions, we offer an optional Extended Commercial License.

This license expands your rights under the Standard License, allowing:

  • Up to 10,000 printed units, or more with written approval.
  • Use in film, television, mobile apps, advertising, or other large-scale media.
  • Broader commercial usage while still non-exclusive.

Please contact us to obtain an upgrade before exceeding standard limits.

3. Legal Notes and Responsibility

  • All ARABICKHAT artworks are created legally, without using any illegal or copyright-infringing tools.
  • ARABICKHAT retains all copyright and moral rights over the original artworks.
  • Purchasing or downloading any product does not transfer ownership of the artwork — you are purchasing usage rights only.
  • The user is fully responsible for how the artwork is used.
  • ARABICKHAT is not liable for misuse, deception, or unlawful activities related to any artwork use.

4. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. Can I use ARABICKHAT calligraphy for my logo or brand?
Yes — but only if it is a custom calligraphy order under the Exclusive Custom License. Ready-made artworks cannot be registered as a logo or trademark.

Q2. Can I modify or recolor the artwork?
Yes. You may change color, composition, or layout as long as it respects the license terms.

Q3. Can I resell the design?
No. Redistribution or resale of any ARABICKHAT file — even modified — is strictly prohibited.

Q4. What if I need more than 1,000 prints?
You can upgrade to an Extended Commercial License. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Q5. Do I own the copyright after purchase?
No. Copyright remains with ARABICKHAT. You only receive the rights of use defined in your license type.

Q6. Are the artworks created with AI?
No. All artworks are manually created by ARABICKHAT artists. All digital works are created legally, without the use of any tools or methods that are unlawful.
